Después de haber terminado, de repente, los labios de la niña de nieve se volvieron rosados y sus grandes ojos comenzaron a abrirse. La niña sonrió cálidamente, se sacudió los blancos y fríos copos de su abrigo y salió de la nieve, convirtiéndose así en la hija con la que siempre soñaron. La llamaron Snegurochka, la doncella de Nieve."
La historia de Snegurochka (Снегурочкa), la doncella de nieve que representa el espíritu del Invierno, está basada en un cuento tradicional ruso. En la época soviética se convierte en la nieta de Ded Moroz, acompañando al Abuelo de las Nieves en la entrega de regalos y caramelos a los niños en el Año Nuevo.

The Snow Maiden (Снегурочка, Snegurochka) is based on a very old russian folk tale.
Since soviet times, The Snow Maiden is also depicted as the granddaughter and helper of Ded Moroz, the Old Man Frost, during the New Year parties for children.
